General Data Protection Regulation Implementation
This one-day implementers course is considered the second of three modules on the subject
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), EU’s personal data protection regulation, poses challenges for companies related to data protection and data management routines. Our GDPR portfolio supports companies in improving their processes towards compliance.
GDPR regulation came into force on May 25, 2018. GDPR is a set of rules designed to give EU citizens better control of their personal data. It applies to all companies that process personal data. It aims to simplify the regulatory environment for business so both citizens and businesses can fully benefit from the digital economy.
The regulation also applies to organizations outside the EU handling personal data of EU and EEA citizens. Hence, GDPR is a worldwide topic not limited to European companies and organizations. Non-compliance for companies can lead to substantial fines of up to €20 million or 4% of annual worldwide turnover.
