ISO launches user surveys on ISO 9001 and ISO 45001
Consultation, consensus and external input has always been core to further development and maintenance. Input will be used in evaluating further revisions and changes.
User surveys for two of ISO’s leading standards, the quality standard ISO 9001 and health & safety standard ISO 45001 are currently active.
“These surveys provide invaluable market and user perspectives to the technical and other committees. The standards are there to set functional industry best practices, driving quality and safety improvements. As a member of the technical committees, we truly welcome the insight and hope that people will take a few minutes to respond,” says Leonardo Omodei Zorini, Representative – International Bodies, for DNV GL Business Assurance.
ISO 9001 is currently being formally reviewed to determine if there should be a revision. The responsible Technical Committee (ISO/TC 176/SC2) will incorporate the analysis into their decision on whether to launch a revision. The survey closes on 31 December this year and a formal decision is expected end of Q1, 2020.
The ISO 45001 survey is a follow up to the survey launched in 2019 to understand who was using the standard and any amendments or improvements are needed. The survey closes on 1 November this year and the responsible Technical Committee will use the insight as a decision is made on how to approach a revision of the standard.
