Bio

Jan Hagen Andersen, Regional Decarbonization Director, DNV

Mr. Andersen, Regional Decarbonization Director, has over 30 years of experience in the maritime industry with a focus on propulsion systems and machinery.  He has a MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and started his career at a marine engineering and service company in Seattle.  He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and Washington State.

In 2005, he joined DNV in the Machinery Section of the Maritime Technical Advisory Group based in Norway.  The Advisory group provides consultancy and non-class support services to ship owners, ship yards, manufacturers, designers and other stakeholders.  In 2010 he moved to the DNV office in Houston, Texas and is currently a Business Development Director for DNV Maritime, Region Americas.  In this role, he is focusing on alternative fuels, environmental compliance, energy efficiency, and novel technologies in shipping.   

He is a member of the SNAME M-16 Panel on Propulsion Shafting and is on the North America Environmental Protection Association (NAMEPA) Board of Directors.


Marco Romero, Business Development Decarbonization Specialist, DNV

Mr. Romero, Business Development – Decarbonization Specialist, brings almost 20 years of experience to the Maritime industry. In his current role, he is focusing on decarbonization, alternative fuels, environmental compliance, energy efficiency, digital and new technologies within the Maritime industry. Marco began his career in the offshore, energy and drilling industries, where he became a global subject matter expert in subsea BOPs and led the DNV team on the certification of the new high pressure high temperature (20K) drilling systems. Marco also led global regulatory initiatives for marine drilling riser and chaired the API group on Diverter Systems. He has also served as Key Account Manager for major OEMs of Oil and Gas equipment, serving as a technical service manager as well as strategic growth planner.  

Marco has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of SNAME, North America Environmental Protection Association (NAMEPA), BlueSky Maritime, andIMarEST.  


Lisa Tenenbaum, Lead Sustainability Engineer, International Seaways

Ms. Tenenbaum is a Lead Sustainability Engineer at International Seaways, a tanker owner headquartered in New York City. In her role, Lina ensures that the organization is informed on sustainability issues and new regulations and their business impacts. She also compiles and analyzes emissions data, prepares internal and external communications materials on sustainability topics, and assists Executive Management in sustainability strategy decision-making. Lina graduated from Webb Institute with a Bachelor's of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering."
