Jan Hagen Andersen, Business Development Director - Region Americas

Mr.  Andersen has over 30 years of experience in the maritime industry with a focus on propulsion systems and machinery. He has an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and started his career at a marine engineering company in Seattle.

​​In 2005, he joined DNV Maritime Technical Advisory Group based in Norway. Since 2010 he is based in Houston, Texas, and is currently a Business Development Director for DNV Maritime, Region Americas. In this role, he is focusing on alternative fuels, environmental compliance, energy efficiency, and novel technologies in shipping. ​

He is a member of the SNAME M-16 Panel on Propulsion Shafting and is on the North America Environmental Protection Association (NAMEPA) Board of Directors.

Allan Krogsgaard, Business Development Director and Principal Surveyor

Mr. Krogsgaard has over 25 years of international experience in the maritime industry with a focus on naval architecture and marine engineering. After graduating as a naval architect in Denmark he went on to work for his family’s ship consultancy firm in Denmark and Rolls-Royce Marine (now Kongsberg Maritime) in Aalesund, Norway. 

This was followed by AP Moller, Maersk Ship Design overseeing design and construction of vessels at AP Moller’s Odense Steel Ship Yard in Denmark and at China Shipbuilding Corporation in Taiwan. In 1999 he relocated to California and worked with Herbert Engineering Corp. as a Naval Architect with focus on vessel conversions and dockings in China as well as cargo and stability software development for US based shipping clients.

Since 2006 Mr. Krogsgaard has served DNV as principal surveyor, station manager for New York, Montreal and Halifax and latest as key account and business development director for key maritime clients in North Eastern United States. Furthermore, he is DNV’s global Key Account Manager for USCG.
