Captain Jan Solum - Area Manager, Area East

Captain Solum has management experience from 30 years in the maritime industries in Europe and Americas. He has varied background of working onboard different types of vessels in global trade, through running the shore based operations of ships from both small vessel operators and up to the world’s largest cruise line, and by supporting customers through 10+ years working for the largest Classification Society in the world. Today he is the Area Manager for DNV, responsible for all DNV stations and offices on the East Coast of North America and throughout the Caribbean including Panama, in addition to running the maritime advisory services for Region Americas, Jan is also in charge of the DNV Cruise Center servicing the cruise industry.

Captain Antonio Prestigiacomo - Business Development Director

Captain Prestigiacomo has over 25 years of experience obtained across the shipping industry, including seagoing expertise encompasses cruise ships. Antonio is a Business Development Director for Region Americas, supporting the development and coordination of DNV strategic tactical planning for maritime and offshore market. He fills also the role as Key Account Manager for Cruise and Yacht segments , and leads the Americas Maritime Academy. He is passionate towards addressing challenges of decarbonization and introducing digitalization.He is a former Merchant Ship Captain , with a BSc in Maritime Operations Management and a MSc in Engineering and Management. He is also registered as Chartered Marine Engineer and Chartered Marine Technologist at UK Council of Engineering and at IMarEST (International Institute of Marine Engineering , Science and Technology).

He is an ex chief engineer and has 33+ years of experience in maritime industry with strong technical background & managerial skills. He also serves as a Customer Service Manager for Major Cruise Companies. Responsible for managing core team of experienced passenger ship surveyors and auditors for effective and efficient operations. Responsible for providing customer service to local cruise companies including: -Worldwide PSSC coordination-Training, coaching and activity monitoring of direct reports - Customer & business development- Coordinating, scheduling and overseeing PSSC Renewal Surveys & Dry dockings, Security & Safety and Quality Management system seamless audits for companies' offices and onboard ships. Coordinate and manage special projects for cruise vessels.
