The North American Offshore Equipment Manufacturers Committee (NAOEMC) meeting will be held in person on Thursday, November 10, 2022 hosted at the DNV office in Katy, TX.

Join DNV technical experts and industry leaders to discuss topics related to offshore equipment. 


What is the NAOEMC?

The NAOEMC is a committee sponsored by DNV which is comprised of industry experts and leaders seeking to establish expectations and align the industry for future growth and development in offshore equipment manufacturing. In this forum, members can discuss and propose potential changes to the DNV Rules, exchange knowledge, and share their experience and feedback. The NAOEMC meets annually in a forum to discuss relevant topics and hear from speakers from all parties involved with offshore equipment, including DNV, manufacturers, regulatory, owners, operators, and other industry partners.

Who should attend?

This forum is exclusive to the equipment manufacturers for the offshore industry. Participants should be interested in new and developing technology as well as market challenges and opportunities. Participation in this committee is free and voluntary.

Marco Romero - image

Mr. Romero has been with DNV GL for 14 years and is a Senior Engineer and Key Account Manager. He is responsible for the design approval and rule interpretation for well control and marine drilling riser equipment. Mr. Romero is a member of API Subcommittee 16 where he is an active participant with task groups API 16F and API 16A and currently serves as the chairman of API S64. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2006.

Nicolas Arteaga - image

Mr. Arteaga has been with Cameron, a Schlumberger company, for 15 years and is currently the New Product Development engineering manager for the pressure control equipment. His engineering experience includes drilling riser, drilling connectors and all models of Cameron BOPs. He is a member of several API committees, including 16A, 16B, 16TR1, 16ST and more. He currently holds the position of vice-chair of the 16A committee. Nic graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and holds a Texas Professional Engineering license.

Dr. Moon has been with NOV for 4 years and is a Senior Technical Manager in the Robotics group. He is leading new product development efforts in the group and managing control software development and productization of the company’s robotic solution, ATOM RTX system. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University with focused research experiences in human-interactive robotics.

Mr. Hartwig is the Director of North America at Schlumberger New Energy. He leads the businesses spanning Hydrogen, CCS, Energy Storage, Geothermal to power and heating, as well as critical minerals like lithium for North America. 22 years ago Nathan started at ExxonMobil as a field engineer, completed an MBA, and then went to McKinsey & Company a management consulting company where he worked on strategy and operations projects around the world. Now with almost 10 years at SLB he has a diverse set of positions ranging from the General Manager VP of the Middle East, Global Business line director for Equipment and now SLB New Energy.

Mr. Givens has been with SLB for 20+ years primarily focused on Cameron Pressure Control technology (PCE). Working in Houston, TX and Patterson, LA, Matt worked in Engineering supporting Cameron Surface and Subsea Wellheads, BOP Stacks, and PCE Aftermarket Repair/Remanufacture before moving to Marketing & Technology as the Business Development Manager for PCE in 2015. Matt is currently serving as the SLB Domain Expert for PCE.

Ms. Edralin has more than 15 years of experience researching and analyzing the offshore oil and gas drilling rig market. She previously worked for ODS-Petrodata, which was later acquired by IHS Markit.

Mr. Vargas: Dril-Quip’s Senior Metallurgical Engineer since 2018. Past experience includes NOV Pressure Control Group and Oil States Industries before that, for a combined 14 years of experience in offshore equipment. Through the years provided Metallurgical support for product lines such as pipeline connectors, pipeline repair systems, BOPs, marine drilling risers, valves, wellheads, subsea trees and Downhole Tools. Currently a participating member in several API groups including API 20E, API 20F and API 21 TR1. Graduated with a BS in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso.

Brian Kingsley - Image

Mr. Kingsley is the vice president of U.S. Bolt and has been with the company since 2008. The majority of his time with U.S. Bolt has been spent working in the engineering, metallurgy, and quality departments, designing and optimizing processes to ensure the integrity of the company’s critical bolting products. Brian is a practicing professional engineer and a degreed metallurgist with a BS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Connecticut and an MS in Materials Science and Nanoengineering from Rice University. In addition to his responsibilities at U.S. Bolt, Brian also serves as the ASTM A01.22.01 bolting committee chair and is a member of API, ASM, & AMPP.

Mr. Farraro is a registered professional metallurgical engineer with over 30 years of experience spanning multiple industries including defense, aerospace, chemical and energy. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso in Metallurgical Engineering and a Master’s in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He currently works as a principal engineer at Chevron’s Technology Center in Houston, Texas. His primary areas of responsibility at Chevron are materials for drilling and completion equipment as well as subsea production facilities. Additionally, he serves as the chair of API Subcommittee 21 on Materials and as an active member of the NACE/ISO 15156 maintenance panel.

Adam Dryer - Image

Mr. Dyer is a Principal Engineer in Metallurgy & Corrosion for OneSubsea, A Schlumberger Company in Houston, TX with nearly 15 years of experience both in the primary metals manufacturing/steelmaking industry and the Oil & Gas industry. In his current role, Mr. Dyer supports the company through material selection and development, subsea production systems project support, new project development support, failure analyses, supplier assessments, and internal company Metallurgy training, among other duties. Mr. Dyer is an active member of the API 20E and 20F task groups and the Chair of API RP 6HT, API 20H, API SC21 Bolting Task Group 5, and the Houston Chapter of ASM International. Mr. Dyer is a Professional Engineer (TX) with a focus in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Mr. Dyer received his Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering from The Ohio State University, with specialization in Metallurgy, and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Childers has worked in the O&G Industry for over 40 years at several companies such as Baker Oil Tools, Cooper Cameron, Hydril (GE Oil & Gas), and BP. Currently, he serves as the Director of Remote Monitoring and Engineering at IPT Global. Mr. Childers also participates across multiple API committees and is serving as the chairman of API 16A. A native Houstonian with a BSME from Rice University, he spends his free time with his wife, five children, and six grandchildren.
