Captain Solum has management experience from 30 years in the maritime industries in Europe and Americas. He has varied background of working onboard different types of vessels in global trade, through running the shore based operations of ships from both small vessel operators and up to the world’s largest cruise line, and by supporting customers through 10+ years working for the largest Classification Society in the world. Today he is the Area Manager for DNV GL, responsible for all DNV GL stations and offices on the East Coast of North America and throughout the Caribbean including Panama, in addition to running the maritime advisory services for Region Americas, Jan is also in charge of the DNV GL Cruise Center servicing the cruise industry.

Captain Prestigiacomo is an accomplished master mariner with 25+ years of demonstrated leadership experience obtained across the maritime industry. Well-rounded seagoing expertise encompasses passenger vessels, including cruise line ships, large crude oil carriers, ro-ro vessels, and chemical tankers. Forward-thinking professional with the hands-on knowledge required to lead vessel operations see while creating opportunities to further align with the bigger picture. Highly skilled in building and leading successful teams that meet the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. Offers a proven ability to innovate and deliver results in the most cost-effective and transformative manner. Today, he is the Key Account Manager for the Cruise and yacht segments within the DNV GL Miami Cruise Center, from where he is leading also the Americas Maritime Academy.
