The course covers the external corrosion control of offshore pipelines including design, manufacturing and installation of coatings and galvanic anode cathodic protection systems.
Course description
The content of the course is based on practical experience, DNV recommendations, as well as national and international standards. A copy of the agenda for this course can be downloaded using the link on the right.
Learning objective
- Gain knowledge of the terminology and basic concepts of the capabilities and limitations of corrosion protection systems
- Be aware of the standards that applies for corrosion protection and the DNV recommended practices, e.g. DNV-RP-B401.
Pre-requisite
Participants are encouraged to attend the Pipeline overview course prior to this course.
Target group
Pipeline and corrosion engineers who need a deeper understanding of pipeline coatings and cathodic protection, e.g. in order to improve communication with project corrosion engineers and suppliers of corrosion protection systems.
