DNV provides laboratory testing to assist with a wide range of practical solutions when evaluating and selecting materials, coatings, inhibitors and qualifying new technologies. Our scientists have extensive experience designing laboratory tests and selecting the critical variables that permit accurate simulation of field conditions.
We provide testing, certification and verification of materials and technologies in accordance with NACE, ASTM, CSA, ISO, NORSOK and DNV standards. Where standards do not exist, we can help develop requirements and customize tests to qualify new technology. We offer a variety of testing techniques for many materials, corrosion and integrity problems including:
• Electrochemical techniques (EIS, CPP, CPT, CCT, ECPT, etc.)
• Environmentally induced corrosion
• Coupon testing for internal corrosion
• Microbiological testing
• Multiphase flow testing
• Inhibitor and coating testing
• Constant, cyclic and slow strain rate loading
• Elastomers – non-metallic materials
• Hydrogen sulfide testing
• High temperature and pressure testing in different environments
• Soil testing (chemistry, cations, anions, pH, resistivity, LPR, physical properties and particle distribution)
