Due to the specific needs and characteristics of this industry, the certification concept is extended such that it can be defined as a robust process to provide, through independent verification, evidence that the marine energy converter will perform adequately within acceptable levels of safety, availability, reliability, asset integrity and environmental impact, within limits specified in the certification basis and complying, where applicable, to relevant standards.

DNV offers industry leading type certification services according DNV’s own certification scheme Offshore Service Specification (DNV-OSS-312). With reference to both international codes and standards in conjunction with proven DNV Standards, Guidelines and Recommended Practices a certification process unprecedented in the industry is offered.
